Ella-Grace Honeyman was diagnosed with the rare and life-threatening brain condition Vein of Galen Malformation (VGAM) just 4 days before her first birthday in June 2008. That same month the Life for Ella-Grace Fund was founded by friends of the Honeyman family who were anxious to help and support the family by raising funds for her life saving treatment.
Ella-Grace underwent her first embolization on June 26th 2008, in Paris, and came through safely. She went on to have a further five successful embolizations on November 12th 2008, April 8th 2009, December 7th 2009, March 3rd 2010 and July 1st 2010, all in New York. However, Ella-Grace faces more procedures, the next, and seventh, surgery is scheduled for September 21st 2011 in New York, and is vital to her ongoing treatment.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those people who have taken Ella-Grace into their hearts and have helped raise funds to date. No words are adequate to thank people enough; it is due to their generosity and sheer determination that she is being treated by the most experienced surgeons.
This website has been set up to help create awareness of VGM, and to raise funds that will continue to help Ella-Grace receive the life saving treatment she so desperately needs.
Ella-Grace is scheduled for her next operation on April 18th 2012. We are praying that everything goes to schedule this time after our failed trip last time. She is doing ok and we are keeping ourselves busy in attempts not to dwell on her looming op. Once again we wish to thank you all for your continued support of our precious little girl.
